BULUUY MIRRI FEATURES IN THE ARTZ RUNWAY AT MELBOURNE FASHION FESTIVAL!
Oh what a night it was in Melbourne, kicking off the first fashion event of 2021 since Covid 2020 with a BANG!

The Buluuy Mirrii, Queen Honey Ant Collection featured in the Artz Runway by designer Aron Katona and we really turned the heads of this Melbourne Mob! The runway was held at the prestigious venue Georges on Collins in the heart of Melbourne's iconic CBD.
Colleen Tighe-Johnson Owner and Founder of Bully Mirrii is an Australian Aboriginal fashion designer who uses her talents to harness the spirit of her ancestors and revive Gomeroi Dreaming Stories through her label, Buluuy Mirrii (Black Star in her Gomeroi language).
Colleen’s work creates cultural story within her designs – unique commissioned Gomeroi artworks are printed onto luxury fabrics and used to design one-off garments showcased on her runways. Her models are drawn from the not-for-profit Buluuy Mirrii Youth Development program, taking young Aboriginal people from their home towns to the international stage.
A huge thank you to Wendy Scully Millinery for the collaboration and for providing our beautiful headpieces. These headpieces complimented Colleen's designs in so many ways and just set of the night as Buluuy Mirrii opened the Arts Runway Show!
Fashion designer Aron Katona presented an unforgettable night of extravagant runway fashion featuring some of Melbourne's most creative established and emerging designers and poets.Aron has designed and created exciting prints for over 10 years and works with luxurious sequin, beaded and textured materials to bring a blend of sultry and edgy silhouettes to life.
This event is owned and operated by Aaron Clothing and proudly promoted by Melbourne Fashion Festival as part of the Independent Program.
